OptimumK - NASCAR Edition

Thanks to Josh Winkler for writing about OptimumK - NASCAR Edition in Stockcar Engineering this month. The feature was also in Racecar Engineering - so grab your June issue and read all about it!

OptimumK – computer aided suspension design and analysis  –  was developed in 2008 and has already been used and implemented by racing teams in the Formula One, American Le Mans/Le Mans, Dakar, IRL and Touring Car series.  Now outfitted for the specific rules and regulations of NASCAR, teams can use OptimumK to design and set-up their vehicles faster and smarter.

Throughout the season, NASCAR teams may change their set-up for each specific track they race on.  Each small change can make a big difference on the track.  In OptimumK - NASCAR Edition the suspension system is defined by individual parts, which allows teams to change a single part and analyze the effects on suspension kinematics to determine the perfect set-up for race day.

Advanced Workshop Announced!

Success in the automotive industry today requires highly specialized people who can communicate effectively and efficiently with one another. To achieve this, everyone needs to understand the final goal of the whole group. Our Advanced Vehicle Engineering Workshop will help you flush out those goals.

week one November 29 - December 4, 2010
week two December 6 - 11, 2010
at OptimumG Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, USA

In order to accommodate busy schedules, we are offering the Advanced Workshop in two parts. Those who are only able to attend for one week, can join us starting Monday, November 29 through December 4, but those wishing to extend their opportunity can participate until December 11. In order to attend the second week, you must have participated in the first week.

There will not be another Advanced Workshop until 2012. If you are interested now, we would encourage you to sign up this year!

If you are interested in signing up, please contact Erin Meyer at erin.meyer@optimumg.com or +1 303 752 1562.

Vehicle Dynamics Reports & Analysis

OptimumG engineers went to Cordoba, Argentina this past February to partner with five sensor companies – Kistler, Corrsys-Datron, GeneSys, Texys and MoTeC – to demonstrate data acquisition techniques for automotive engineers at the Oreste Berta S.A. test track.

You can see our reports, analysis and photos of the testing partnership on our Media section of the website.

First-ever OptimumG Webinar Series

With the race season about to start and pre-season testing taking place, OptimumG offered a Webinar Series for graduates of the
3-Day Vehicle Dynamics & Data Acquisition Seminars. The first Series focused on Applied Data Acquisition, and was filled with case studies and practical examples to apply your vehicle dynamics knowledge to the race track, and included online exercises.

We had over 30 race teams and automotive engineers participate in this first Series. Based on their great feedback, we will be offering several topics and dates this Fall 2010.
